ILLUSION OF MOTION

Image
For this week's exercise, I thought of drawing a superhero to convey the feeling of motion. I made her hair and cape flow to show that the character is as if her powers is so strong gusts it generates a lot of light and wind. And I intentionally set the mood for this drawing as an supernatural action theme. To express that the superhero is in a fight to give the feeling of motion a little more emphasis.

MOTION PICTURE

For this week's activtty we were tasked to create a simple motion picture video. I immediately thought of doing a basic animatic of the song Crybaby by my favourite singer, Melanie Martinez. I drew the slides manaally one by one in Paint Tool Sai and edited the slides together to match the lyrics using Camtasia Studio 8. I hope everyone will like this video of mine :>

WEEK 10: ILLUSION OF SPACE AND DEPTH - GAME ENVIRONMENT

Image
I LOVED THIS ACTIVITY AND HOW THIS PIECED WORKED OUT. For this activity we were tasked to create an artwork reminiscent to a game environment. I play games casually when I have free time or when I needed a sort of entertainment. So it is pretty obvious that the sort of games I play reflects the artwork I did for this activity. For a little background as to why my piece looked like this, back when we were all in a lockdown, I became obsessed with a game called Stardew Valley where you play as a farmer reconstructing her grandpa's old farm. While making this piece, I am thinking of that game so this is heavily influenced and inspired from Stardew Valley. I also really love the cow :>

WEEK 11: TEXTURES

Image
Our lesson this week was about textures. So I thought what better way would I be able to convey textures? When I asked myself what is the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word 'texture' is fashion. The textures of the clothes in fashion is various so I thought it would be a perfect idea. For this piece I chose varying fabric textures. From the smooth and shiny silk that contrasts the rough surface of the jacket and blouse. Interestingly enough even the wristwatch worn by the model reflects the texture of glass and metal. I really hope I did well for this activity.

WEEK 10: THE POWER OF PERSUASION

Image
For this activity, I used mental health as the subject for this persuasive ad. Because personally I think that mental health issues are often brushed off and ignored. I want this poster/ad to reach out to people and reassure them that they are not alone.   Since the subject of this work is mental health, I chose using emotions to persuade the audience how important it is to talk their feelings out.  I chose a zoomed in picture of a man close to his eyes because I think it will be a good detail to include because it gives reference to the saying that the eyes are the window of our souls. The cool toned color effects for the said pictures gives emphasis on the feeling of being down or should I say "feeling blue". Overall, I loved working for this piece!
